A Look Forward: Advanced Biofuels Leadership Looks at the Coming Year and Where Advanced Biofuels Stand in a Post-Election, Post-Drought Environment

When the National Advanced Biofuels Conference & Expo officially begins late this fall, the American voting public will have made a decision about the presidency, and American farmers will know the impact of this year’s drought on their harvest. And while opinions certainly vary as to the gravity of each of these, the advanced biofuels industry is currently being gazed upon through the lens of each. This panel will kick off the show as attendees hear from association leadership as to what they see as they look upon the year’s drought and election cycle and how they may bear on the coming year, commercialization momentum and the optimism and concern currently being felt by their constituents.

Commercial Scale Advanced Biofuels Production: The Future is Here

Commercial volumes of ethanol and advanced biofuels like cellulosic ethanol and biomass-based diesel are all outlined provisions of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. This provision formed a bedrock for the industry over which commercial capacity is now being built. As much as these mandated volumes urge the build-out of the advanced biofuels industry, meeting them and cementing overall confidence in the sector’s time has come. Populated by CEOs from advanced biofuels companies in various stages of development and operation, this panel will examine not only the race to bring new capacity on–line, but also to maintain and grow the volumes of biofuels already delivering commercial scale volumes.
